Half a year down the road and our intimate trip to Birmingham was upon us. For individuals who haven’t been there trust in me when I claim it’s rather a nice town to go to and has more eateries than you are able to shake a selfie stick at. Anyway, I digress. Excitement intended that the 5am begin was had, hardly great whenever your prepare only leaves at 10am.
Following a somewhat painless prepare journey we arrived at Birmingham International. The NEC is rather handily attached with the station. What is rather unhandy may be the combination Birmingham hike through the section to access it (I child of course), but we appeared nevertheless.
First thing that struck me was how black it was. Right by the entrance will be the indie activities which I’d to applaud. Inform a gamer the new COD or FF is lurking about anywhere and they’ll hunt it out, two time line and all, but they’re a little more hesitant to seek out those indie gems. The standard of the indie activities on show was very extraordinary and it will also reassuring to see that the retro gaming character remains solid (watch out for functions on Conga Master and Modsork soon).
It’s truly given me something to shoot for with my current project. Given it was a Saturday afternoon there was however sufficient space to move about and talk to the designers whilst having a gander at their wares. Indie-only events are probably however a much better guess for seeking them out but since this was a tiny portion of an enormous cake you can’t complain.
A ginormous advertising for Final Illusion XV brought me hurtling back once again to reality. We were in it now. The queues were long (apparently significantly faster on a Thursday or Friday when the kids are in school) but I did handle to get a look of said new COD, new Gears of Conflict and also new FIFA and guess what happens? I hardly felt a thing.
